Prof. Dr. Martin Butler

Martin Butler is Junior Professor of American literature and culture at the University of Oldenburg and currently head of the Department of English and American Studies. His main areas of research include the study of popular culture, particularly focusing on popular music as well as on urban cultures. In a number of projects and publications, he has worked on transnational and transcultural dimension of popular cultural practices and forms of expression, focusing on forms, figures, agents and media of cultural mobility.
