Nereida Ripero-Muñiz

After graduating in Spanish Philology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Nereida Ripero- Muñiz undertook a MA in Cultural Memory at the University of London. In 2007 she joined the United States International University in Nairobi as a lecturer of Spanish Studies. She is currently based at the University of Witwatersrand, where she lectures in Spanish and is registered at the African Center of Migration and Society as a PhD candidate. The working title of her dissertation is “Practices of Gender and Culture among Somali Women Living in South Africa and Kenya: a Narrative Analysis”.
