Sudha Tiwari

Sudha Tiwari is a prospective PhD student. She holds an M. Phil. in History from University of Mumbai. She submitted her dissertation in 2009 titled “History, Memory and Literature: Partition Narratives of S. H. Manto, Khushwant Singh and Bhisham Sahni”. She explored alternative sources of history writing during her M. Phil. and wishes to work on cinema as a source of contemporary Indian history writing during her PhD. She has been a lecturer/teacher in undergraduate colleges and school since 2005. She has taught subjects like history of ancient, medieval, and modern India; 2oth century European history, history of contemporary world; political concepts and Indian political system; journalism; human rights etc. She recently read a paper at the 73rd session of Indian History Congress, titled “Witnessing Partition through Literature: Probing into Bhisham Sahni’s Tamas”. She reads about memory, postmodernism, structuralism and post structuralism, cultural materialism as schools of thought.
