Duduzile S Ndlovu

Dudu is a second year PhD student with the African Centre for Migration & Society (ACMS) at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her PhD work is on memorial making practices of sociopolitical violence (Gukurahundi) by Zimbabwean migrants in South Africa. She is interested in how migrants use art to memorialise Gukurahundi. Prior to her PhD Dudu obtained a Masters’ degree in Forced Migration at the University of the Witwatersrand and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Environmental Science and Health from the National University of Science and Technology in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. She is a recipient of the Mellon Postgraduate Mentoring Programme funding.
