Michal Assa-Inbar

Michal Assa-Inbar is a Phd Candidate at the department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Hebrew university in Jerusalem. She had conducted an ethnographic field work in an international school located in a big city in the south of China, from 2005-2008. The focus of her dissertation is the constructions, reconstructions and representations of ‘culture’ in a global sphere and among the elite of international immigrants (mainly business people). Her master was completed also at the Hebrew University, in the school of education, the department of sociology of education. The MA thesis was engaged with the question of culture as well, only this time among university students who immigrate to another country to
continue their studies.
Michal is teaching a course on 'Globalization and daily life' at the Hebrew University. She is
married with 3 children.
